Mutual aid is a system in place that sends the next available ambulance to cover a 911 call when we are unavailable (on another call).  Monroe County Control Center is in charge of dispatching mutual aid units when needed. Marshalls Creek Fire Dept. now is designated ambulance Station 5 and helps out when needed. Often, Suburban Ambulance and Barrett Ambulance will be dispatched since they are in neighboring coverage areas. Sometimes, however, when the county is extremely busy, other ambulance corps may respond.

The Medevac helicopter, which flies patients to hospitals, was featured at Oct 8. 2015 night's 21st annual Fire Prevention Week Community Open House held by Shawnee, Marshalls Creek and Bushkill fire companies at Shawnee Mountain Ski Area.
The open house teaches the public about fire safety/prevention while demonstrating how fire vehicles and equipment operate. Also present were Bushkill and Marshalls Creek ambulance companies and the Monroe County Control Center staff, who handle 911 calls.
